KDR TRUCKLINES INC is hiring a truck driver to work on site at 15 PATTON DR in Cambridge, ON. The salary is $37.00 per hour for 40 hours a week. This is a permanent, full-time position that starts as soon as possible. There are two vacancies available. The job requires working on site, with no option to work remotely. The ideal candidate will have a secondary school graduation certificate and be willing to learn, as training is provided. The company operates in the transportation and warehousing industry and is a medium-sized business with between 5 and 100 employees. Responsibilities - Address customers' complaints or concerns - Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations - Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques - Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy - Load and unload goods - Mountain driving expertise - Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes - Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials - Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment - Pay and receive payments for goods - Perform brake adjustments - Perform emergency roadside repairs - Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle - Perform preventive maintenance - Professionalism in customer service - Receive and relay information to central dispatch - Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption - Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo - Transport and handle dangerous goods Requirements & Qualifications - AZ class license - Accident or incident reports knowledge - Bill of lading knowledge - Dangerous goods occurrence reports knowledge - Driver logbook knowledge - Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) knowledge - Maintenance and repair reports knowledge - Trans-border documentation knowledge - Trip reports knowledge - Ability to operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment - Local, long-haul, and short-haul transportation experience - Ability to drive manual transmission vehicle - Valid driver's licence - Willing to travel cross-border - Willing to travel for extended periods - Willing to travel internationally - Willing to travel overnight - Attention to detail - Ability to handle heavy loads - Excellent written communication - Flexibility - Judgement - Organized - Reliability - Team player - English language proficiency Benefits - Travel expenses paid by employer 2.
