Frequently asked questions

Is the CV builder actually free?

Yes. Every template, the live preview, and the PDF download are free with no paywall or watermark. Signing in only adds the option to save your CV and come back to edit it later.

Which template should I use for a scholarship application?

The Photo Sidebar, Modern, and Classic templates work well for most scholarship and fellowship applications. Use the ATS-Safe template specifically when applying through an online portal that scans CVs automatically, since it avoids columns and graphics that can confuse that kind of parser.

Can I build an academic CV, not just a professional one?

Yes. Switch "CV Type" to Academic / Scholarship in the form to add Publications & Presentations and Awards & Honors sections alongside the standard education and experience fields.

Do I need an account to download my CV?

No. You can build and download a PDF without signing in. An account is only needed if you want to save a CV and continue editing it in a later session.

Will my CV always fit on one page?

It depends on how much content you add and which template you choose, more compact templates like Compact or ATS-Safe fit more onto one page. If your content genuinely runs long, the builder correctly paginates onto a second page rather than cutting content off.
