Opportunity Overview
The Asia-Europe Foundation is organizing the 24th ASEF Seminar 2026 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from October 12 to October 14, 2026. This fully funded international seminar will bring together young leaders, academics, policymakers, civil society representatives, and human rights practitioners from Asia and Europe to discuss global human rights issues. The seminar will be followed by a two-day Capacity-Building Program for selected participants. The seminar's theme, "The Future of Human Rights: From Local to Global," will explore how local human rights initiatives can contribute to regional and global human rights protection while addressing emerging global challenges. The seminar will provide a platform for participants to engage in discussions on various topics, including human rights governance, digital rights, social inclusion, equality and non-discrimination, climate justice, civic participation, international cooperation, emerging human rights challenges, and Asia-Europe regional collaboration. The Capacity-Building Program will focus on leadership development, human rights advocacy, project development, international collaboration, and practical skills for promoting human rights initiatives. The Asia-Europe Foundation will cover all expenses for selected participants, including round-trip economy airfare, hotel accommodation, meals during the seminar, local transportation for official activities, and access to all seminar sessions. Participants will also have networking opportunities with international experts and receive a certificate of participation.

Eligibility
- Citizens of ASEM Partner countries in Asia and Europe
- Experience or a strong interest in human rights
- Actively involved in civil society organizations, universities, research institutions, government agencies, international organizations, or related sectors
- Good English communication skills
- Availability to attend the full seminar in Mongolia
- Interest in Asia-Europe cooperation and dialogue
