OmaScan, a healthtech startup, is looking for a Founding AI Engineer to help develop an AI assistant for home assessments. The company aims to improve the lives of seniors and people with accessibility challenges by automating the paperwork process for clinicians. Responsibilities

Ingesting messy inputs, such as dictations, photos, measurements, and 3D scans, and turning them into clean, structured data
Generating reports that fill existing clinic templates and creating quick summaries for assessors to share with clients, vendors, or colleagues
Building agentic post-assessment follow-up workflows
Handling health data correctly, safely, and in line with privacy regulations
Weighing in on product decisions and participating in customer calls
Working alongside existing engineers and outside contractors
Traveling to pilot sites and conferences as needed

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience with retrieval, structured outputs, and messy multimodal inputs
Background in shipping LLM systems into production
Ability to own something end-to-end and make architecture calls independently
Experience working in fast-paced environments or startups, particularly in healthtech
Strong experience with full-stack development, mobile application development, and LLM application development
Knowledge of real-time AI visual processing, product sense, and judgment to make product calls
Bonus experience with multimodal AI, agentic and tool-using systems, healthcare or regulated industry experience, 3D data ingestion and pipelines, and AWS infrastructure depth
