About this opportunity
Opportunity Overview
A seed-stage startup is hiring a part-time, AI-native full-stack developer to deliver the MVP of a track-and-trace platform for the cash-in-transit/logistics industry. The role will involve building and shipping a full MVP, including a web platform, a companion mobile app, and backend integrations with external systems. The developer will work primarily through AI-assisted, spec-driven development, using agentic coding tools and spec-driven workflows. The startup is looking for someone with 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrated use of agentic coding tools, and direct experience with BMAD or a comparable spec-driven, multi-agent agile framework. The developer will be responsible for exercising engineering judgment on architecture and trade-offs, communicating directly with the technical founder/CTO, and scaling hours up or down with project velocity. The role may become full-time or convert to a permanent hire. The startup values strong spoken and written English, comfort with ambiguity, and experience with mobile development, logistics/supply chain domain exposure, and fintech integration. The developer will work closely with the fractional CTO, who is looking for someone who can deliver high-quality output, not just watch someone type. The startup is open to scaling hours up or down with project velocity, and the role may become full-time or convert to a permanent hire.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship a full MVP: web front end, backend, mobile companion app, and third-party integrations (ETL/middleware)
- Work primarily through AI-assisted, spec-driven development — turning PRD/user stories into shipped code using agentic coding tools
- Operate inside a BMAD-style (or equivalent) agentic framework: think in user stories, iterative delivery, and structured spec hand-off to AI agents
- Exercise engineering judgment on architecture and trade-offs — including where AI agents can be trusted to execute autonomously and where a human needs to step in
- Communicate directly and clearly with a hands-on, technical founder/CTO
- Scale hours up or down with project velocity
