The company is looking for a Support & Deployment Engineer to work on JavaScript/Typescript and PostgreSQL/AI coding tools. This engineer will be responsible for running build prompts, fixing bugs, testing, and deploying small end-to-end builds. They will also train and support staff on using new tools. The ideal candidate will have experience shipping production software and be comfortable with TypeScript/JavaScript, Postgres, and AI coding tools. The company's tech stack includes Compass, Atlas/Morgan, and related tools. The Support & Deployment Engineer will work closely with the lead engineer, who writes the architecture and build prompts. The engineer will execute these prompts, review the output, and finish what the AI missed. They will also test builds against real scenarios in staging and deploy them to a working, deployed staging build. The company values transparency and open communication. The Support & Deployment Engineer will be expected to flag what's broken versus what's unclear and explain technical concepts to non-technical staff members. They will also be responsible for writing down solutions to problems so that the next person can learn from them.
Responsibilities
- Fix bugs and own the day-to-day bug queue across Compass, Atlas/Morgan, and related tools
- Follow the build flow and execute build prompts faithfully
- Test builds against real scenarios in staging before they go live
- Deploy small end-to-end builds and take a scoped feature from a written .md flow through to a working, deployed staging build
- Train and support staff on using new tools and features
- Write down solutions to problems so that the next person can learn from them
- Flag what's broken versus what's unclear and triage bug reports and user issues

Requirements & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience shipping production software or equivalent hands-on project work
- Comfortable reading someone else's spec and executing it without needing it rewritten
- Working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript and Postgres, or the ability to pick both up quickly
- Daily user of an AI coding tool, such as Claude Code or Cursor
- Comfortable with Git, PRs, and staging-first deployment discipline
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff members without talking down to them
- Willingness to say when something's broken, including when you broke it, and no blame-shifting or silent workarounds
