The FIFA World Cup 2027 is hiring a Venue Technology Manager in Recife, Brazil. This is a full-time, fixed-term position in the Technology department. The manager will oversee technology services at assigned venues, ensuring they meet FIFA's requirements. This role is for someone with experience in the sports or major event industry, particularly in managing complex IT programs and projects. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. They will also have experience managing diverse teams, including paid staff, contractors, and volunteers. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including clients, providers, and government entities, to deliver technology services across all venues. The Venue Technology Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and operating technology services, as well as managing the technology demand and needs requirements for the tournament. They will also facilitate the collection and distribution of technology requirements for all client groups involved in the FWWC 2027.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all aspects of Technology, Telecommunications, and Broadcast Technology Services are implemented according to FIFA Technology requirements
- Manage a diverse Venue Technology team
- Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, providers, and government entities
- Manage and contribute to venue technology working groups
- Manage technology demand and needs requirements
- Plan the delivery of end-user technology equipment and services
- Facilitate the collection and distribution of technology requirements
- Provide guidance on structural build-out and technology services implementation
- Identify and report on progress of critical dependencies
- Manage asset tracking and management of deployed technology equipment
- Track progress of structural build-out and IT implementation
- Develop regular progress, risk, and issue management reports
- Follow up with stakeholders, providers, and government entities
- Support and ensure the team adheres to IT Service management protocols
- Manage on-site IT Technicians and support teams during tournament time operations
Requirements & Qualifications
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Overall IT experience and experience in a similar role
- Experience in the Sports or major event industry
- Proven track record of successful delivery of complex IT programs and projects
- Proven track record in managing similar projects
- Good knowledge of venue technology services across major sporting events
- Up-to-date knowledge and project management expertise in event-related technologies
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
