The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is hiring a Legal Counsel for their commercial legal team. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Miami. The role involves assisting commercial teams with everyday operations, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and providing legal support for various activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law, excellent English language skills, and experience in the sports marketing industry. They will be part of a high-performing team and will need to be able to work collaboratively, drive results, and achieve organizational goals. The role is realistically for someone with a Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership, as well as 4-6 years of expertise in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Assisting commercial teams by advising on their everyday operations
- Drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial and media partnerships matters
- Providing support regarding the interpretation of media, rights, marketing, IP, retail, and licensing agreements
- Assisting in providing legal support related to Web3 activities, social media, digital content, gaming, and e-sports
- Providing legal and contractual support to FIFA’s strategic and corporate development activities
- Supporting FIFA’s subsidiaries, including the FIFA Museum and the FIFA Foundation
- Providing advice, guidance, and support for all legal, regulatory, and governance matters relating to FIFA’s commercial media activities
- Providing legal support and counsel on development and production deal structures and documentation
- Assisting in managing, developing, and maintaining FIFA's portfolio of non-live content related templates
- Assisting and providing support for the FIFA Technology team
- Assisting and providing support for the FIFA Innovation team
- Providing legal support for music-related matters
- Instructing and liaising with external counsel in connection with local law matters
- Developing and maintaining FIFA’s template agreements

Requirements & Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership
- 4-6 years of expertise in a related field
- First-class written and spoken English language skills
- Ability to provide and communicate effectively practical and solutions-based legal advice

- Excellent negotiation, drafting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
