The Museum in Zurich is hiring a Childcare Assistant to work part-time in the Exhibitions & Heritage department, reporting to Melike Deniz. This role involves caring for children's groups during birthday parties, leading age-appropriate museum tours, and facilitating games and crafts. The assistant will also contribute to the design of programs and events, lead workshops and guided tours with school classes, and perform minor administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children's groups, pedagogical and didactic knowledge, and flexibility in their working hours. They should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication skills in German and English. The museum is looking for someone with a strong interest in working with children and a talent for dealing with them. The role is based in Zurich and requires regular and reliable willingness to work, especially on weekends and Wednesday afternoons. The assistant will also be required to work at events and trade fairs as needed, and to supervise entertainment media and report any defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Care for children's groups during birthday parties at the museum
- Lead age-appropriate museum tours, games, and crafts
- Contribute to the design of programs and events
- Lead workshops and guided tours with school classes
- Perform minor administrative tasks, such as cleaning up and material maintenance
- Reorder materials as needed
- Supervise entertainment media and report any defects or malfunctions to the supervisor
- Serve as a contact person in case of emergencies or problems on site
- Co-care for interactive stations in the museum
- Work at events and trade fairs as needed

Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience in dealing with children's groups, such as leading children/youth clubs
- Pedagogical and didactic knowledge is an advantage
- Flexibility and spontaneity in the execution of tasks
- Flexibility in working hours and regular and reliable willingness to work
- Very good knowledge of the German language in word and writing
- Good English skills
- Any additional language is an advantage
- Creativity towards children and reliability towards the employer
- Great interest and fascination with football and its history is not explicitly required but may be beneficial in certain aspects of the role
