War Child International is hiring a Finance Coordinator to work remotely, contributing to the effective implementation of accounting processes, systems, financial planning, and reporting for War Child projects. The Finance Coordinator will ensure compliance with War Child and donor financial and administrative rules, support the Finance Manager, and work with global teams. War Child International is an international non-governmental organization that provides psychosocial support, child protection, youth empowerment programming, and quality education to children affected by armed conflict. The Finance Coordinator will be responsible for handling finances, including following up on partners' periodic financial reports, checking financial supporting documents, and preparing partners' financial reports. They will also be responsible for handling administration, including line managing and supervising Finance Officers and holding the filing system for grants agreements and partners' funding agreements. War Child International operates in several countries, including Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Colombia, and the occupied Palestinian territory. Responsibilities
- Handle finances, including following up on partners' periodic financial reports and burn rate reports
- Check partners' financial supporting documents eligibility and compliance
- Prepare partners' financial reports for recording on the War Child accounting system
- Review financial reports from partners in collaboration with the Program Team
- Follow up with War Child partners and hold regular meetings
- Support War Child project partners on all financial aspects
- Assess War Child partners' capacities in collaboration with the Program team and contribute to training when relevant
- Manage the Partner Funding Agreement, payments, and advances to partners
- Monitor War Child projects budgets and advise on the allocation of expenses
- Update War Child projects budgets forecast of expenses in collaboration with the Program staff and the Procurement and Logistics Senior Officers
- Provide Senior Program staff with regular monthly financial analysis, highlighting overall challenges and opportunities
- Review the monthly expenses allocated to the project and update the BFU
- Draft donors' financial reports
- Participate in the monthly Grant review meetings and present the spending status of grants
- Support the operations team, program team, and partners in preparations of new budgets and budget reallocations
- Lead the Audit preparation, during the audit, and for the implementation of audit recommendations findings
- Advise and support the Finance Manager in maintaining efficient financial workflows, control, and Segregation of Duties
- Assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring relevant organizational setup and reliable internal control system
- Alert key staff on financial risks and responsibilities
- Line manage and supervise Finance Officers
- Hold the filing system for the Grants Agreements
- Hold the filing system for the partners' Funding Agreements, financial reports, and financial documents
- Comply with deadlines and reporting dates

Requirements & Qualifications
- BA Degree in Accounting or similar degree
- 4 to 5 years' experience in similar positions with an NGO or INGO
- Knowledge of and experience working on main international humanitarian donor-funded programs
- Experience working in a consortium and with partners is an added value
- Experience with training and capacity building on finance and administration
- Very strong computer skills, Microsoft office, especially Excel
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic
