Key Responsibilities

- Draft press releases, policy recommendations, and briefing documents for submission to international bodies such as the United Nations Human Rights Council and treaty monitoring committees.
- Monitor legislative developments, executive orders, and humanitarian crises across multiple jurisdictions, flagging emerging issues for HRW's rapid response teams.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns of abuse, preparing statistical summaries and trend analyses for internal strategy meetings.
- Assist in the development of global policy briefs, synthesizing complex legal and political information into accessible recommendations for advocacy audiences.
- Collaborate with HRW's regional desks to align research methodologies and ensure consistency across reporting standards.
- Maintain and update databases of human rights violations, tracking case progress and supporting litigation or advocacy efforts with verified documentation.
- Respond to media inquiries and support press outreach by preparing talking points and background materials for HRW spokespeople.
- Participate in virtual strategy sessions with international partners, contributing regional expertise to campaign planning and coalition-building efforts.

Eligibility & Prerequisites
