Key Responsibilities
- Analyze child health, education, and nutrition datasets from multiple countries using R, Python, and PowerBI, ensuring statistical rigor and alignment with UNICEF’s global indicator frameworks.
- Design and maintain interactive dashboards that visualize program performance for regional directors, donor agencies, and government partners, with a focus on clarity and usability.
- Provide direct technical support to national statistics offices, including data validation protocols, cleaning procedures, and the implementation of standardized monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with UNICEF’s headquarters data team to refine global data collection methodologies and contribute to the development of annual reports such as The State of the World’s Children.
- Conduct remote training sessions and webinars for country office staff on data visualization best practices, using tools like Tableau, PowerBI, and open-source GIS platforms.
- Develop and manage relational databases that consolidate survey data, administrative records, and programmatic monitoring data from diverse sources.
- Perform regular data quality audits, identifying discrepancies, missing values, and outliers, and documenting corrective actions for internal review.
- Create data briefs and policy memos that distill complex analytical findings into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders, including government ministers and UNICEF ambassadors.
- Support the design of evaluation frameworks for new pilot programs, including baseline assessments and indicator selection.
- Maintain a repository of reusable code, templates, and documentation to streamline future analytical work across the organization.

Eligibility & Prerequisites
- A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, or a related quantitative field is required; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred and will be considered a differentiator.
- At least three years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or monitoring and evaluation, ideally within international development, public health, or education sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, along with working knowledge of R or Python for statistical modeling and automation.
- Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker, including the ability to create interactive, user-friendly dashboards.
- Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis of program coverage and geographic disparities.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; professional proficiency in French or Spanish is a significant asset given UNICEF’s operational regions.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing tasks without direct supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to explain technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of data literacy.
