The Yellow Tea Rose Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking four dedicated community leaders to serve on its inaugural Board of Directors. Founded in partnership with Gamma Omicron Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., the Foundation aims to advance education, scholarship, leadership development, and community empowerment in Jacksonville, Duval County, and the surrounding Northeast Florida region. This role offers the opportunity to shape the Foundation's direction and make a meaningful impact in the community. The Foundation serves individuals and families in the region, and its mission is to provide support and resources for education, leadership development, and community empowerment. The Board members will play a crucial role in providing strategic oversight, governance, accountability, and fundraising leadership to support the Foundation's mission. They will be expected to attend bimonthly board meetings, participate in Foundation initiatives, and serve as ambassadors for the Foundation within their professional and community networks. The Foundation is committed to diversity and representation across disciplines, ages, genders, and backgrounds, and is looking for individuals who share this passion and commitment. The time commitment for this role is approximately 5 hours per month, including bimonthly board meetings held in person or via Zoom. The term for this position is 2 years, from September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028. Board members are expected to fulfill a minimum annual fundraising goal of $1,250 through personal outreach, donor cultivation, and sponsorship efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance and governance oversight to advance the Foundation's mission
  • Support fundraising efforts and help cultivate donor and sponsor relationships
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Foundation within professional and community networks
  • Attend bimonthly board meetings (twice per quarter) in person or virtually
  • Participate in Foundation initiatives, programs, and community events as applicable
