Branch Four Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit innovation hub, is seeking a Board Member for Fundraising and Development. The organization connects technology talent with local newsrooms to build open-source tools and support data-driven investigations. This board member will help secure financial resources to support the organization's programs and growth. The role involves working collaboratively with fellow board members and leadership to identify fundraising opportunities and cultivate donor relationships. The Board Member will play a key role in advancing Branch Four Inc's mission by helping to secure the financial resources needed to support the organization's programs and growth. The organization's goal is to strengthen transparency, trust, and civic engagement by bringing technology expertise to under-resourced news organizations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting fact-based news and strengthening access to credible, trustworthy journalism. They will also have experience in fundraising, business development, corporate partnerships, or marketing.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute three fundraising campaigns within a 12-month period
- Conduct outreach to corporate marketing, community relations, and ESG departments to secure sponsorships, donations, and partnership opportunities
- Participate in virtual board meetings
- Review and approve organizational budgets, financial statements, and strategic plans as part of the board's governance responsibilities
- Serve as an ambassador for Branch Four Inc, promoting its mission and engaging potential supporters
