The International Monetary Fund is hiring a Senior Communications Officer to work on strategic communications objectives, particularly focused on the Middle East and North Africa region. Responsibilities

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree in communications, journalism, political science, economics, finance, international relations, or a related field, with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience
  • Significant professional experience working in and/or covering the Middle East and North Africa
  • Demonstrated understanding of economic and political environment in the region
  • Extensive knowledge of key media outlets and figures in the region
  • Demonstrated success in building and sustaining trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Strong strategic communications experience, including outreach strategies in fast-paced environments
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions
  • Sound judgment, political acuity, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience monitoring and interpreting media, social media, and geopolitical developments
  • Understanding of the IMF's mission, operations, and the broader global political and economic landscape is a strong advantage
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and consensus-building skills
