As a Mainstreaming Education in Emergencies (EiE) into Education Sector Planning consultant, you will play a crucial role in helping countries prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises. With UNICEF's support, you will work closely with governments and partners to strengthen education systems and improve equitable learning outcomes for all children, particularly in crisis-affected and fragile contexts. This 12-month remote consultancy offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of millions of children. As a seasoned expert in education sector planning, policy development, and humanitarian programming, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance on mainstreaming EiE into education sector planning processes, including supporting countries across the planning cycle and integrating cross-cutting priorities. Eligibility Criteria
- Advanced university degree in Education, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in education sector planning, policy development, systems strengthening, and Education in Emergencies (EiE) or humanitarian programming
- Proven experience integrating risk-informed, crisis-sensitive, and resilience-focused approaches into education planning and policy processes
- Demonstrated experience supporting governments and development partners in the development, review, and implementation of education sector analyses, sector plans, operational plans, and education reforms specifically in humanitarian settings
- Strong technical expertise in education sector analysis, planning, policy development, and results frameworks
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to conduct and interpret risk, vulnerability, and resilience analyses
- Strong facilitation, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French, Spanish, or Arabic is highly desirable
