About this opportunity
Opportunity Overview
UN Women is hiring 2 international consultants on retainer to support its Cash and Voucher assistance program in Afghanistan. The consultants will work remotely but may need to travel to Afghanistan as required. They will report to the Access, Coordination and Emergency Response Specialist and work with UN Women's country office in Kabul and its regional sub-offices. The consultants will provide technical and operational support to ensure the program is of high quality and responsive to the needs of women and their families. This includes transferring capacity and experience to strengthen UN Women's internal institutional capacity in Afghanistan. The program focuses on providing cash assistance, which offers a degree of privacy, discretion, and flexibility that is often lost in in-kind assistance. UN Women has been working in Afghanistan for two decades, with five key program priorities: Integrated Programming and Localization, Women's movement building, Policy and Research, Economic Resilience and Private Sector, and Coordination, Access and Humanitarian Response. The consultants will play a key role in supporting these priorities through their work on the Cash and Voucher assistance program.
