Médecins Sans Frontières is hiring a Safeguarding Coordinator to be based in either Syria or Yemen. The Safeguarding Coordinator will define and lead the implementation of a Safeguarding Strategy to strengthen detection, prevention, and reporting of abuse. This role will involve collaborating with the country-level team and mentoring field management teams. Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organization that offers assistance to populations in distress. The organization is built around six operational directorates supported by more than 25 sections and offices worldwide. The Safeguarding Coordinator will play a key role in upholding the values and principles of MSF. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong commitment to the values and principles of MSF. They will be responsible for implementing a prevention strategy, monitoring feedback and complaint channels, and coordinating the work plan of the team under their responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the implementation of a Safeguarding Strategy
- Collaborate with the country-level team to strengthen detection, prevention, and reporting of abuse
- Mentor field management teams in preventing and detecting all forms of abuse
- Implement a prevention strategy for MSF staff, partners, and contractors
- Implement feedback and complaint channels
- Monitor the work plan of the team under their responsibility
