Khan Academy is hiring an ELA Assessment Content Creator. This is a full-time, remote position with a salary range of $77,600 - $94,090 USD annually for candidates based in the United States. The ideal candidate will have experience in grades 3-5 ELA assessment development and a passion for teaching and learning. The ELA Assessment Content Creator will work on the development of new, innovative K-12 assessments. Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation of K-12 assessments, leveraging subject matter expertise to execute on blueprints to create high-quality assessment content
- Use and contribute to improvements in content and item management systems
- Ensure alignment of items with state standards and item development best practices
- Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional teams to create more engaging, interactive, and informative assessments for students
- Innovate with new item types made possible by AI technologies

Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience in grades 3-5 ELA assessment development
- 2+ years classroom experience teaching elementary school ELA
- Deep pedagogical expertise and expertise in state and national standards
- A focus on assessment as a positive experience integrated with learning
- Experience with collaborative work on time-sensitive projects
- Interest in using new AI tools as assistants in content creation
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), as well as an eye for detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization
- A growth mindset that is curious and energized to innovate and create something new for students
- Project management skills (e.g. fluent with Google docs and spreadsheets and other tools) and a willingness to learn new tools
