The Movement for Peace, Disarmament and Freedom is hiring a Security Management Responsible in Madrid, Spain. This role aims to strengthen the institutional security management system, promoting an organizational security culture consistent with the organization's principles, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security management, risk management, and international development cooperation. The Security Management Responsible will work under the direct dependence of the Organization's Management and will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the organization's Security Policy, promoting and accompanying the development and correct implementation of the Security Strategy and Action Plans. The role also involves providing technical support to other departments and areas of the organization, implementing and facilitating the technical management of the organization's Security Committee, and keeping the Management Team and department heads informed about the evolution of the security situation in the countries and delegations where the organization operates. Responsibilities

  • Promote and accompany the implementation of the organization's Security Policy
  • Coordinate the development and correct implementation of the Security Strategy and Action Plans
  • Develop and present the Annual Security Management Report
  • Review, update, and supervise the correct application of the organization's Security Protocol
  • Provide technical support to other departments and areas of the organization in the development, updating, and monitoring of Country, Delegation, and Program Security Plans
  • Implement and facilitate the technical management of the organization's Security Committee
  • Keep the Management Team and department heads informed about the evolution of the security situation in the countries and delegations where the organization operates
  • Promote mechanisms for monitoring, analysis, and incident reporting that allow for early identification of risks and trends
  • Review and accompany the updating of security plans for countries, delegations, and programs where the organization works
  • Provide technical support for the implementation of preventive and containment measures aimed at reducing security threats and adequate risk management
  • Conduct continuous security risk analysis and monitoring of incidents in contexts where the organization works
  • Develop and update risk analysis and management tools and instruments in coordination with the organization's teams
  • Provide technical guidance to teams on security guidelines and measures approved by the organization's Security Committee
  • Analyze procedures, documents, and methodologies related to security management to promote continuous improvement and good organizational practices
  • Evaluate the operational security management of the organization's teams
  • Identify technical, logistical, and training needs related to security
  • Promote an institutional security culture based on co-responsibility, self-care, and preventive risk management
  • Facilitate the induction processes of hired, volunteer, or intern personnel in security management
  • Detect and channel the training and capacity-building needs of the organization's teams in security management
  • Design and deliver internal training aimed at strengthening the capacities of headquarters, country, and delegation personnel, promoting compliance with the organization's Security Policy, Protocol, and standards
  • Represent the organization in forums, conferences, seminars, and coordination spaces related to security, humanitarian access, protection, and crisis management
  • Participate in working groups and coordinate the institutional relationship with specialized actors and sectoral networks
  • Collaborate in the planning and monitoring of budgets related to the implementation of the organization's Security Policy
  • Identify investment needs in physical, technological, training, and operational security

Requirements & Qualifications

  • University degree (Bachelor's/Licentiate/Diploma) and specialized and/or postgraduate training in Security Management, Crisis Management, and/or Emergencies
  • Complementary training in International Development Cooperation, Humanitarian Action, and/or Social Action will be valued
  • Knowledge and/or experience in feminist approaches, human rights, peace culture, migration, asylum, and international protection will also be valued
  • Desirable education and/or experience in Gender Equality, Human Rights, and Peace
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in security management, risk management, or similar functions
  • Experience in emergency program management and/or humanitarian action (both in Spain and other countries) and/or international cooperation, as well as experience in team coordination and work in complex or high-volatility contexts, will be valued
  • Demonstrable experience in humanitarian or unstable contexts will be especially valued
  • High level of English is essential
  • Knowledge of French will be especially valued
  • Advanced management of office tools and collaborative platforms for management, monitoring, and reporting
  • Ability to analyze and make decisions, collaborative leadership, strategic and operational planning, communication and negotiation skills, teamwork, results-oriented management, flexibility, and adaptability in complex contexts
  • Availability to travel, both within and outside Spain, is required
