One Acre Fund is hiring a Seed Inspection and Sampling Senior Supervisor in Kigali, Rwanda. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring compliant and high-quality seed production through seed inspection, field and storage sampling, and phytosanitary checks. One Acre Fund is a organization that equips smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive, and this role will be part of the Rwanda program, which operates under the local brand Tubura. The program serves over 2.8 million farmers and works closely with the government to support national efforts to improve food security. The Seed Inspection and Sampling Senior Supervisor will work with production teams to recommend corrective actions and follow up on their implementation. They will also support quality assurance and testing activities, escalate critical quality issues, and collaborate with sample-related personnel. Responsibilities
- Inspect seeds to ensure compliance and high-quality production
- Sample seeds from fields and storage
- Authorize or reject seed lots for further testing based on field and storage inspection findings
- Handle and document samples
- Recommend corrective actions and follow up on their implementation with production teams
- Support quality assurance and testing activities
- Escalate critical quality issues that may affect seed performance or compliance
- Collaborate with sample-related personnel
- Propose and implement improvements in inspection and sampling processes
- Coordinate directly with field and laboratory teams to ensure quality standards are met

Requirements & Qualifications
- 1+ year of inspection and sampling experience or in a related field
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Basic knowledge of agronomic aspects on different crop seeds
- Knowledge of seed inspection and sampling procedures
- Understanding of seed certification systems
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Basic knowledge of G-suite (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Seed science, Agriculture, Agroforestry, or related fields
- Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda
