The Schwarzman Scholars program is a scholarship that selects a new class of high-caliber individuals every year to represent the next generation of leaders. These individuals will serve to deepen understanding between China and the rest of the world. The program is open to international applicants who demonstrate academic excellence, exceptional results in their field, and outstanding leadership qualities. The program's cohort reflects the diversity, vibrancy, and promise of the world at large. The Schwarzman Scholars program is designed for individuals who are at least 18 but not yet 29 years old as of August 1 of their enrollment year. Applicants must be on track to complete their undergraduate degree requirements before August 1 of their enrollment year. There are no specific field requirements, but applicants must articulate how participating in the program will help develop their leadership potential within their field. The program is conducted in English, and applicants must demonstrate strong English skills. If the applicant's native language is not English, they must submit official English proficiency test scores with their application.

Eligibility
- Must be at least 18 years old as of August 1 of the enrollment year
- Must not be yet 29 years old as of August 1 of the enrollment year
- Must be on track to complete undergraduate degree requirements before August 1 of the enrollment year
- Must demonstrate strong English skills
- Must submit official English proficiency test scores if native language is not English
- Must meet minimum English proficiency test scores:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score 100 out of 120-point scale
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score 7
- Cambridge English: Advanced (C1) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (C2) minimum score 185
- Duolingo English Test minimum score 130
