Opportunity Overview
The United Nations OHCHR Fellowship Programme 2026 is an exceptional opportunity for young professionals with a passion for human rights to work directly with the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. As a fellow, you will spend 12 months gaining hands-on experience in grant evaluation, research, policy discussions, and outreach activities, all while being fully immersed in the UN's work on contemporary forms of slavery and torture. Eligibility Criteria
- Experience Requirements:
- At least 2 years of work experience in human rights issues related to modern slavery and/or torture
- Experience helping and supporting survivors
- Project management experience is helpful but not required
- Language Requirements:
- English: Working level (spoken and written) is required
- French or Spanish: Fluency is desirable
- Arabic, Chinese, or Russian: Knowledge of any of these languages is a plus
- Other Important Points:
- Lived experience: If you are a survivor of modern slavery or torture and now support others, you are strongly encouraged to apply
- Grantee experience: If you have worked with organizations funded by the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture or other humanitarian funds, you are encouraged to apply
- Availability: You must be available for the full duration of the program
