Benefits & Financial Aid

Stipend: A stipend is offered to help cover living costs during the internship with UNEP.
Tuition: Full tuition, including the Summer Experience Program at Georgetown Law and all textbooks for courses.
Airfare: Round-trip tickets from and to Washington, DC, before and after the LL.M. program and round-trip tickets from and to the UNEP posting for the internship.
Health Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance is extended throughout the LL.M. program and the internship.
Textbooks: All textbooks for courses are covered.

Eligibility Criteria

Citizenship: Must be a citizen of a developing country.
Law Degree: Applicant must have a law degree accepted in their country of origin and be licensed to practice law.
Government Employment: Must be an employee of a national or local government agency.
Environmental Law Experience: Must have proven experience practising environmental law, energy law, natural resources law, or a closely related field of law.
Return Commitment: Fellows will be expected to return to their home country after the completion of the program and continue practising in public sector environmental law for at least three years.
