The World Food Programme is hiring a Business Support Assistant to work in Peshawar, Pakistan. This is a 12-month service contract position with the possibility of extension. The role is based in the WFP Office Peshawar and will report to the Project Coordinator. The World Food Programme is a humanitarian organization that saves lives in emergencies and uses food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability, and prosperity. The Business Support Assistant will be involved in day-to-day budget monitoring and grant analysis. The staff member will complete assignments and provide advice on budgetary issues, applying WFP regulations, donor compliance, and providing expertise in making determinations and recommendations across a range of activities on budget and finance. This position is open to Pakistan nationals only. Responsibilities
- Contribute to the review of budget plans, monitoring and analysis of project financial performance, and make recommendations in compliance with WFP financial policies and procedures
- Provide basic analysis on fund and grant balances and refer to the supervisor discrepancies
- Contribute to pipeline management facilitating efficient monitoring to prevent and address pipeline breaks
- Enter accurate data in the corporate systems within the established deadlines
- Compile data and provide basic analysis, maintain accurate records and files, and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports
- Maintain communication with individuals regarding project funds management matters and related processes
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to other staff in budget planning, fund management, and operational planning
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices
- Provide procedural and technical support to staff within the areas of finance and budget
- Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Monitor the daily cash position to optimize the use of surplus cash and maximize returns on investment
- Monitor the centralized registry system to process all payments to internal staff and invoices to external suppliers
- Contribute to the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of budgets, monitor expenditure and budget forecasts
- Coordinate with other teams to ensure that all financial and administrative services are being performed efficiently
- Monitor account balances and process financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner
- Monitor and analyze general ledger accounts to initiate and achieve corrective actions

Requirements & Qualifications
- The position is open to Pakistan nationals only
- Educational documents must be verified/attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC)
- Appointment will be subject to submission of HEC-verified degrees
