Opportunity Overview
The World Bank Group offers an internship program, WBG Pioneers, providing undergraduate and postgraduate students with hands-on experience in a diverse and dynamic environment. The CIV CMU, composed of 4 countries, manages a large portfolio of close to US$ 10.8 billion, including national and regional operations. The CMU oversees the implementation of the portfolio through close engagement with the government and regular portfolio performance reviews. The internship is based at the heart of global development, allowing participants to contribute fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. The WBG Pioneers program aims to provide a high-impact learning experience, connecting international professionals working to end poverty on a livable planet. The program is designed for students who are currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, an undergraduate or postgraduate program. The internship will provide day-to-day operational support to project teams and sectoral units, tracking project implementation pace and monitoring risks and performance. Eligibility
- Currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, an undergraduate or postgraduate program
- 0–6 years of relevant professional experience
- Academic background must align with the requirements outlined in the job description
- Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group’s mission
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Data proficiency: ability to gather and synthesize data
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
- Proficiency in English; additional languages may be required depending on the role
