The World Bank Group is hiring a Lead Energy Specialist to work with government counterparts, private sector representatives, and other stakeholders on energy projects. This role involves leading and co-leading project preparation, appraisal, negotiations, and supervision, as well as providing high-quality research and analytical support. Responsibilities
- Participate in dialogue with private sector representatives to identify areas of collaboration
- Lead and co-lead preparation, appraisal, negotiations, and supervision of energy projects
- Coordinate and follow up with government counterparts and consultants
- Provide high-quality research and analytical support, including drafting policy notes
- Support the preparation, completion, and follow-up of official missions, including drafting aide memoires and official correspondence
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Practice Manager

Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 12 years of combined experience in international institutions, companies, government agencies, and/or sector utilities
- Demonstrated track record of successful engagement with complex projects
- Familiarity with key aspects of design, development, implementation, and operations of large energy/mining infrastructure projects
- Experience in supporting policy dialogue with clients and stakeholders
- Experience working with large global teams and producing high-quality results with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build strong partnerships
