The World Bank Group is hiring an Operations Officer for its Sustainable Infrastructure Advisory team, based in Dakar, Senegal. This role will support the delivery of advisory services, focusing on climate adaptation and resilience, decarbonization, and broader sustainability issues. The World Bank Group is a unique partnership of five global institutions dedicated to ending poverty, increasing shared prosperity, and promoting sustainable development. The Infrastructure Vice Presidency works with public and private sector partners to develop solutions to global challenges, with a mandate to deliver knowledge for impact and enable the World Bank Group to achieve its goals. The Sustainable Infrastructure Advisory team provides sustainability-related advisory services to IFC investment clients and partners, helping clients broaden stakeholder benefits, strengthen community buy-in, and develop resilient infrastructure. The team is based globally, with experts in Washington, DC, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. The Operations Officer will contribute to the growth of IFC's infrastructure investment business, particularly in energy and mining, as well as other infrastructure sectors. Responsibilities
- Support regional client engagement across Africa to identify new business opportunities
- Design innovative solutions that address clients' risks and challenges
- Manage and deliver client-facing projects
- Develop and disseminate lessons learned and knowledge materials on SIA's services and broader sustainability topics
- Contribute to the growth of IFC's infrastructure investment business, particularly in energy and mining
- Support the regional team in developing and disseminating knowledge materials
