The World Bank Group offers an internship as a Blended Finance Data Analytics Intern through its WBG Pioneers program. This internship is part of the Partnerships & Blended Finance Department, specifically within the Portfolio Operations unit. The intern will support data analytics, reporting automation, and the development of data-driven insights for Blended Finance and fundraising operations. The World Bank Group operates in over 100 countries, working with businesses, financial institutions, investors, and governments to create jobs and address development challenges. The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, focuses on creating and expanding markets, supporting private sector growth, and generating sustainable employment opportunities. The IFC's work includes investment, innovation, partnerships, and blended finance to accelerate development impact while supporting job creation and economic resilience. The Blended Finance Data Analytics Intern will contribute to this mission by applying advanced data analytics, visualization, and AI-enabled techniques to generate insights from Blended Finance and Fundraising data. The internship provides an opportunity for postgraduate students to gain hands-on experience in a diverse and dynamic environment, contribute fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, and connect with international professionals working to end poverty on a livable planet. Eligibility
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, a postgraduate (master’s/PhD) program
- Demonstrated experience through coursework, academic research, internships, or employment in financial services, investment analysis, data analytics, or related disciplines
- Understanding of financial products, investment processes, financial institutions, capital markets, or development finance
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience working with large and complex datasets
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, generative AI, data automation, and advanced analytics tools and their practical application to business problems
- Academic background must align with the requirements outlined in the job description
- Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group’s mission
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
- Proficiency in English; additional languages may be required depending on the role
