Opportunity Overview
The International Rescue Committee is hiring a Refugee Info Editorial Officer to work on the Refugee.Info Italy project. The project provides asylum-seekers, refugees, and migrants in Italy with accurate and useful information on legal rights, essential procedures, and services. The Editorial Officer will lead the platform's editorial line, drive the information campaign on the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, and produce multimedia content. The position is expected to end on August 23, 2027, and offers an annual compensation of €14,400. The Refugee.Info Italy project operates across Italy, including in Trieste, Milan, Rome, Turin, and various locations in Sicily and Calabria. The project focuses on supporting the most vulnerable populations, such as women and children. The Editorial Officer will work remotely as part of a multicultural team distributed across Italy. The International Rescue Committee responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. The organization is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations, at work in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities.
Responsibilities
- Develop bespoke, engaging multimedia content for Refugee.Info Italy digital platforms
- Lead the creation and implementation of the information campaign on the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum
- Work with the R.I. Project Manager and the R.I. Moderation Lead to identify information needs and develop an editorial calendar
- Research training opportunities, courses, and initiatives relevant to migrants and refugees for publication on Refugee.Info channels
- Manage and maintain the website and social media channels of Refugee.Info Italy
- Build audiences for ads, promote content through ads campaigns, and maintain a solid online presence
- Coordinate with the Signpost technical and development team to ensure the smooth operation and development of Refugee.Info platforms
- Analyse Refugee.Info social media growth, engagement, and audience behaviour using analytical tools
- Produce quarterly KPIs reports and monitor web and social media KPIs

Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree in communication, development communication, social sciences, law, or a related field
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- High proficiency in technology and software (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, Google products, social media platforms)
- Proficiency in infographic software and/or experience in graphic design
- At least 2 years of experience in the field of asylum and migration, media and communications, preferably with an NGO
- Knowledge of services, procedures, and legal frameworks relevant to the migration and asylum context in Italy
- Excellent command of Italian and English, both spoken and written
- Strong collaborator with effective interpersonal and analytical skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Genuine commitment to migration, asylum, and protection issues
- Ability to work remotely as part of a multicultural team distributed across Italy
