The International Rescue Committee is hiring a Moderation Officer to work with the InfoPa’lante Venezuela platform and its social media channels. This role involves providing individual attention to people interacting with the platform, confirming care routes, and staying updated on institutional, organizational, and community-related topics. The Moderation Officer will work closely with the Content Officer, Directory of Services, and Graphic Design Assistant to deliver services to the target population. Founded in 1933, the IRC is one of the largest international humanitarian organizations, working in over 40 countries and 29 US cities. The Moderation Officer will be responsible for moderating communication channels, involving users in online conversations, and following protocols for escalating vulnerable cases to protection specialists. They will also analyze communication trends, share opinions and knowledge with the team, and collaborate with editorial and social media teams to develop comprehensive responses.

Responsibilities

Moderate communication channels and respond to messages and comments on social media platforms
Involve users in online conversations and follow protocols for escalating vulnerable cases
Analyze communication trends and write daily analysis reports
Share opinions, comments, cultural awareness, contextual knowledge, and learning with the team
Collaborate with editorial and social media teams to develop comprehensive responses
Identify information gaps and feed them into future content creation
Accompany CIR Venezuela partners in information routes to the target population
Provide informative sessions on the platform and access to basic services to clients, community leaders, and public officials
Collaborate with program focal points to generate content with a differential focus for the populations served
Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor related to the contractual object and program development

Requirements & Qualifications

Professional title in Social Communication, Social Work, Human Rights, or a related field
Experience working with people and communities in vulnerable situations
Knowledge of psychological first aid tools
Strong computer skills and familiarity with basic software tools: Windows, Android, Skype, Microsoft Suite, and Google Docs
Knowledge of social media platforms, such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, and their cultural use
High emotional intelligence
Experience working with diverse populations, including disaster survivors, returnees, internally displaced persons, refugees, and the LGBTIQ+ community
Understanding of the humanitarian architecture in Venezuela
Empathetic, creative, and receptive
