The International Rescue Committee is hiring a Graphic Design Assistant to work in Venezuela. This role is part of the communication strategy support team at InfoPa'lante. The assistant will be responsible for designing graphic pieces and online communication materials that align with the principles and guidelines of the IRC and its donors. The goal is to create strategic and effective messages for the target populations of IRC Venezuela. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various formats such as video, gif, illustrations, and animations. The Graphic Design Assistant will work closely with the IRC Venezuela team and program teams to develop graphic and audiovisual pieces for publication on social media. The assistant will also participate in the co-creation of products and provide innovative ideas. The role requires a strong understanding of social media principles and information management. The International Rescue Committee is a global humanitarian organization that responds to the world's worst crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, and economic wellbeing to people affected by conflict and disaster. The organization operates in over 40 countries and 29 US cities, and is committed to reducing the gender gap in leadership positions.
Responsibilities
- Develop communication pieces according to the work plan of InfoPa'lante Colombia
- Participate proactively in the design process of tools to be used in project activities
- Support the multimedia information strategy of the InfoPa'lante team
- Participate in the generation of multimedia content with regional information
- Exercise labors derived from the contract of work with subject to the norms of security and health in the work
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment correctly
- Report health status and participate in training and safety committees

Requirements & Qualifications
- Higher technical university degree or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related fields
- Experience and skills preferred:
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent software
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Understanding of social media principles and information management
- Experience working with various formats such as video, gif, illustrations, and animations
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Capacity to produce different products simultaneously
- Strategic thinking, planning, organization, creativity, and proactivity
- Teamwork experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a global team
