Community Outreach & Events Volunteer
A Healthier You, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that aims to improve mental, emotional, physical, financial, social, and spiritual well-being through accessible wellness education and community partnerships. This volunteer opportunity is for a Community Outreach & Events Volunteer, which involves representing the organization at community events in Prince George's County, MD, and the DMV. The time commitment is approximately 4-8 hours per month, typically at 2-3 community events each month. The organization is looking for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy engaging with people and representing A Healthier You, Inc. at community events. This role is suitable for someone interested in nonprofit work, public health, community engagement, event planning, or wellness. As a volunteer, you will help create a welcoming experience and increase awareness of A Healthier You, Inc. throughout the DMV. What You'll Do Represent A Healthier You, Inc. at community events, health fairs, and wellness festivals Assist with event setup and breakdown Welcome and engage with community members Share information about AHY's programs and services Distribute flyers and educational materials Help with event registration and attendee check-in (when applicable) Take photos and short videos for social media and marketing Assist with transporting or organizing event materials as needed Support staff and instructors during community wellness events Requirements & Qualifications Friendly and dependable Comfortable speaking with people from diverse backgrounds Organized and willing to help wherever needed Passionate about community wellness and service Able to attend approximately 2-3 community events per month throughout the DMV Photography or social media experience is a plus, but not required Benefits Gain hands-on nonprofit and community outreach experience Develop leadership and communication skills Network with local organizations and community partners Receive volunteer service hours (if applicable) Help improve the health and well-being of communities across the DMV 2.
