Digital Media Specialist
The Animal Legal Defense Fund is hiring a Digital Media Specialist. This role involves publishing content on the organization's website, maintaining image and video assets, and performing daily website maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a background in communications, marketing, or a related field, and experience with digital communications and production. The Digital Media Specialist will work on a variety of tasks, including updating webpages, selecting and editing photos, and monitoring website performance. They will also be responsible for supporting integration with CRM and analytics platforms, and providing insight and advice to team members on content quality and usability. The organization is looking for someone who is highly organized, able to manage multiple projects, and has a demonstrated interest in digital technology. A background in animal protection and a commitment to the mission of the Animal Legal Defense Fund is preferred. Responsibilities - Publish diverse legal and advocacy-driven content on the ALDF website - Update webpages on a rolling basis with information supplied by program departments - Maintain and organize image and video assets in the digital media library - Select, crop, and size photos for the website - Serve as a final check before publishing, coordinating edits as needed - Perform daily maintenance, monitoring, and quality assurance of the website - Support integration with CRM and analytics platforms - Support eventual new website build - Monitor and analyze website performance and report on website metrics - Provide insight and advice in team collaborations on content quality and usability - Stay up to date on industry trends, technological developments, SEO, and UX strategies - Generate monthly performance reports - Create and implement strategies to recruit a wide demographic of supporters - Conduct audience targeting, retargeting, and A/B testing - Develop ad copy, creative briefs, and campaign recommendations - Measure success of every digital advertising campaign - Manage and optimize the organization’s Google Grant - Collaborate with development, events, and program departments to support direct marketing campaigns - Manage and code advertising expenses to corresponding restricted grants - Create Intranet posts as assigned Requirements & Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field - Minimum of 3 years of digital communications and production experience - Experience with CMS platforms, including WordPress and Drupal - Proficiency in HTML - Experience with paid digital advertising campaigns - Knowledge of SEO best practices - Experience with data analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and Tag Manager - Demonstrated ability to maintain attention to detail - Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities - Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, collaborative team environment - Must be goal-oriented, self-motivated, creative, highly-flexible, and adaptable to change - Demonstrated interest and passion for digital technology - Background in animal protection and demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Animal Legal Defense Fund preferred - Ability to travel periodically for staff meetings and retreats Benefits - Starting annual salary of $71,509 for most geographic locations - Starting pay of $75,273 for candidates located within 25 miles of Washington D.C., Cotati, CA, and Los Angeles - Starting pay of $79,036 for candidates located within 25 miles of New York City and San Francisco - Comprehensive health care, dental, life, and vision benefits (100% employer paid) - Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care Account (DCA) available 2.
