About this opportunity

Kasa Foundation is looking for a Volunteer STEM & Innovation Associate to support the development of its Kasa Future Makers programmes, which include Kasa Code Club, Kasa Robotics Lab, Kasa NextGen, and the CREATE African Grand Challenge. This is an ongoing, remote, volunteer-led role focused on research and programme support. It does not replace the work of Kasa's curriculum developers, facilitators, mentors, or onsite implementation partners. The associate will research STEM and AI education opportunities, identify learning resources and tools, and help Kasa maintain an organized understanding of emerging technologies, competitions, learning kits, and potential technical partners. The work supports learner progression from foundational coding to innovation and robotics challenges. Volunteers collaborate remotely with Kasa's programme leadership and other contributors, completing assigned tasks within agreed timelines. Kasa Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on STEM and AI education for underserved young people, primarily in Africa. What You'll Do

Responsibilities - Conduct literature reviews and data analysis to support ongoing ADB projects in areas such as infrastructure finance, climate resilience, and social development. - Prepare briefing notes, policy briefs, and presentation decks for senior staff and external partners. - Assist in monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, including field data collection when assignments are based at resident missions (e.g., Kazakhstan, Thailand, Europe). - Contribute to the Statistics and Data Innovation Unit by cleaning datasets and generating visualizations for internal dashboards. - Participate in team meetings, stakeholder consultations, and knowledge‑sharing sessions across divisions. Requirements & Qualifications - Current enrolment in a master’s or doctoral programme at a recognized university located in an ADB member country. - Academic background directly related to ADB’s work, such as economics, finance, public policy, engineering, environmental studies, or social sciences. - Demonstrated professional experience or research exposure relevant to the internship task (e.g., previous internships, research assistantships, or sector‑specific projects). - Strong written and spoken English proficiency; the ability to produce clear analytical reports is essential. - Ability to work independently, manage tight deadlines, and collaborate with a culturally diverse team. - Citizenship of an ADB member country (the bank’s 68 members include nations from East Asia, South Asia, the Pacific, and the Middle East).
