Youth Ambassadors Intern at Save the Children
Save the Children, a global organization promoting children's rights and providing aid to children in need, is offering an internship as part of the Youth Ambassadors program. The internship, based in the Netherlands, involves organizing activities and events for and with young people, and contributing to the development and expansion of the Youth Ambassadors program. The intern will work closely with the project team to achieve the program's goals, and have the opportunity to work with young people from diverse backgrounds, contributing to their personal development. The Youth Ambassadors program aims to engage young people in decision-making processes related to children's rights. As an intern, you will be part of a large organization with over 25,000 employees in 120 countries, where diversity and inclusivity are valued, and a welcoming and supportive work environment is created. The internship will start on September 1, 2026, or earlier, and will last until February 2026, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. The organization requires a recent Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag (VOG) as a condition for the internship. Responsibilities Co-organizing and co-facilitating activities for and with young ambassadors and other children and young people Contributing to the further professionalization and development of the project Helping with the organization of the National Youth Lobby Day in October 2026 Possible research options, such as participatory research, to contribute to the program's goals Requirements & Qualifications High level of independence and enthusiasm High flexibility and creativity Experience working with young people, both in groups and individually Interest in social inclusion and valuable young people's participation Active and engaged attitude in working with young people Dutch language proficiency is required due to working with Dutch-speaking young people Availability: at least 20 hours per week Start date: September 1, 2026, or earlier, until February 2026 A recent Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag (VOG) is required Benefits Internship allowance Opportunity to work with a large and diverse organization Chance to contribute to the development and expansion of the Youth Ambassadors program Possibility to work on research projects and contribute to the program's goals 2.
