Doctors with Africa CUAMM is recruiting for three positions in Ethiopia: Pharmacist, Health Coordinator, and Pediatrician. Responsibilities
Pharmacist:
- Manage the procurement, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies across CUAMM-supported health facilities
- Ensure proper inventory management and prevent stockouts of essential medicines
- Supervise pharmacy staff and provide on-the-job training on dispensing and drug handling
- Monitor drug usage patterns and report on consumption data to inform supply planning
- Implement and enforce proper storage conditions, including cold chain management for temperature-sensitive products
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian pharmaceutical regulations and CUAMM protocols
- Collaborate with clinical teams to promote rational drug use and reduce wastage
Health Coordinator:
- Coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of CUAMM health programs in assigned regions
- Liaise with regional health bureaus, district health offices, and other stakeholders to align activities with government priorities
- Supervise project staff and manage budgets, work plans, and reporting schedules
- Conduct field visits to assess program progress and identify gaps in service delivery
- Organize training sessions for local health workers and community health volunteers
- Prepare donor reports and contribute to proposals for new funding
- Ensure that programs integrate quality improvement measures and adhere to national health protocols
Pediatrician:
- Provide clinical care for pediatric patients, including inpatient and outpatient services
- Diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses, malnutrition, and infectious diseases
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, nurses, and medical students in pediatric care
- Participate in outreach clinics and mobile health services in underserved communities
- Manage pediatric emergencies and stabilize critically ill children
- Contribute to health education sessions for caregivers on nutrition, immunization, and hygiene
- Document clinical cases and support data collection for program monitoring

Requirements & Qualifications
Pharmacist:
- Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university
- Valid license to practice as a pharmacist in Ethiopia
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, preferably in a hospital or NGO setting
- Experience managing pharmaceutical supply chains in resource-limited settings
- Strong knowledge of essential medicines lists and procurement procedures
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Amharic or local languages is an advantage
- Ability to work in rural or remote locations with limited infrastructure
Health Coordinator:
- Degree in public health, nursing, medicine, or a related health field
- Master's degree in public health or health management is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health program management, ideally with an NGO
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with government health structures
- Strong budget management and donor reporting skills
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Amharic is a plus
- Willingness to travel frequently to field sites
Pediatrician:
- Medical degree with specialization in pediatrics
- Valid medical license to practice in Ethiopia
- Minimum of 2 years of post-specialization clinical experience
- Experience managing severe acute malnutrition and pediatric emergencies
- Ability to work in district hospitals with limited diagnostic resources
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills for local health staff
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Amharic or local languages is advantageous
