UTSIP Japan Summer Internship Program 2019
The UTSIP Japan Summer Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students to gain hands-on research experience in various fields at the University of Tokyo, Kashiwa Campus. The program, initiated by the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences in 2013, offers a fully funded internship for students to explore their interests in fields such as biology, chemistry, environmental studies, and more. As a UTSIP participant, you'll have the chance to conduct research, attend classes and laboratory work, and engage in special events organized by the program. This is a unique opportunity for students who are considering graduate-level studies at the University of Tokyo or elsewhere in Japan. The program will be held in two sessions: Program A from June 3 to July 12, 2019, and Program B from June 24 to August 2, 2019. You'll have the chance to choose from various research departments, including Advanced Materials Science, Computational Biology and Medical Sciences, and Ocean Technology, Policy, and Environment. This experience will not only enhance your research skills but also provide you with a deeper understanding of the cultural and academic environment in Japan. (FUTI), MIT-Japan program, Honda Foundation, and UCLA Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies (from 2018) Eligibility Criteria Participants must be in their undergraduate program at an overseas college or university throughout the entire duration of the UTSIP program. Participants must not have completed their BA/BS degree. Participants must be considering graduate-level study at the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences or other graduate schools at the University of Tokyo, or elsewhere in Japan. Participants must participate in all activities, including classes, laboratory work, and special events organized by UTSIP. Required Documents Cover letter (500-700 words) Curriculum vitae (Form free, paper size A4, 2-3 pages) Copy of your transcript (written in English or Japanese) Recommendation letter (written by someone who knows your current study well) Certificate of Registration Certificate of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEIC score sheet) Copy of your passport (page with your picture) Picture in digital data (upper body, plain single-color background, taken within the last three months) 2.
