Immigration Legal Services Intern (Fall 2026)

The International Rescue Committee is hiring an Immigration Legal Services Intern to work in a hybrid environment, including a standard office setting, remote work, and field time within the greater Baltimore area. The intern will gain experience working with an internationally recognized non-profit organization and get a firsthand look at the basics of immigration processes and procedures. The IRC provides immigration legal services, including filing applications for adjustment of status, naturalization, and family reunification for refugees, asylees, and immigrants. The intern will work under the guidance of IRC immigration staff and assist with specific applications and forms. The intern will learn basic policies and procedures of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Department of Homeland Security. They will also learn practical methods to fill out immigration forms, organize and provide supporting documents, and help clients write financial affidavits. The intern will practice and apply basic interviewing techniques to conduct client intake forms and ensure that translation services are provided in a language accessible to clients. The internship will start with a required orientation on Monday, September 14th, and will continue through December 18th, 2026, for a total of 14 weeks. The intern will be required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and will be issued an IRC laptop for the duration of the internship. Data Collector (Sabha)

The Data Collector will be based in Sabha, overseeing the data collection process in their respective areas of assignment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, and demonstrated experience in conducting field-level data collection and data analysis.
