Senior Economic Development Consultant — Conakry, Guinea
Join the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Conakry, Guinea, as a Senior Consultant for Economic Development. This 12-month consultancy aims to support the Direction Nationale de la Population et du Développement Économique (DNPDE) in operationalizing its economic development strategy. You will contribute to the development of key tools, processes, and deliverables to inform decision-makers and partners. As a senior consultant, you will leverage your expertise in economic analysis, policy formulation, and implementation to drive meaningful impact. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a Master's degree in a relevant field, extensive experience in development economics, and a strong track record of delivering high-quality results in low- and middle-income countries. Benefits & Financial Aid - Consultancy Fee: Negotiable - Travel Costs: Reimbursed - Work Environment: UNICEF office in Conakry, Guinea Eligibility Criteria - Academic Qualifications: - Master's degree in social sciences, economics, development economics, public policies, statistics, or a related field - Professional Experience: - Minimum 10 years of experience in economic analysis, planning, and decision-making support - At least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership, strategic advisory, or high-level technical assistance role - Proven expertise in policy formulation, implementation, and evaluation, particularly in low- and middle-income contexts - Previous experience in Guinea or West Africa is an asset - Language Skills: - Fluent in French and good knowledge of English - Other Requirements: - Advanced Excel skills - Familiarity with PowerBI, R, Stata, or SPSS is an asset Required Documents - Updated TMS Profile - Curriculum Vitae (CV) - Cover Letter - Technical Proposal (including methodology, training approach, and sample workplan) - Financial Proposal (using the provided template) 2.
